All those who are resisting the Attorney General's call for information that could lead to prosecution of corrupt Public Officials under the last Administration are themselves guilty of deceit. The outpouring of support against the move reeks of Partisanship and has no one's best interest at heart, save for those who may be guilty of pilfering the Treasury while in the people's employ. From the corrupt licensing Officer and policeman to the high ranking public official, these people abuse the power granted to them by the people against the very people they are employed and sworn to serve and need to feel the sting of the law.
Why would any investigation into ANY allegation of wrongdoing by the man sworn to do exactly that be an issue?
This country needs more investigation into and prosecutions of those who would take advantage of the people's trust and I applaud the Attorney General in his resolve.
Those that have cocoa in the sun are the only ones who need to 'fraid rain here, and we as a nation need to stand with this AG if he does in fact have what it takes to clean up this town.
To his detractors in this regard and those who would frustrate this effort I say you are confusing the issue with piffle.
No none needs to hear such nonsense now as we attempt to flush out and prosecute the corrupt to the fullest extent the law allows, and to repatriate as much of the stolen national treasure as possible.
I need to point out to him that retaining jurisdiction of Steve Ferguson and Ishwar Galbaransingh is playing into his detractors hands and giving credence to their cries of witch hunt. He would do well to wash his hands of this matter as it were, as he certainly does not need to be hobbled by the appearance of favoritism at this time.
That said, I would like to suggest to the Honorable Attorney General that a separate 'Corruption Court' be set up so as to fast track these cases in the best interest of all. As you yourself very well know, justice delayed is justice denied, and we need to visit justice on those that would take advantage of the people for their own selfish enrichment.
I would also like to suggest the legislating of a 'Whistle Blower Law' in all public appointments from the lowest rank to the highest boardroom, making it a punishable crime for employees paid from the public purse to remain silent in the face of any abuse of the sysytem.
These efforts must be bipartisan and cut across all lines so as to escape the semblance of favoritism, and they must be seen at work in all areas of State employ.
This nation would owe you tremendous appreciation for this effort even if they are not yet aware of how badly corruption affects us all.
Real Leadership is not a popularity contest, it is based on knowing a better way to a better place and taking us all there.
