How it Go Look...

I feel like a voice of one.

I am watching normally rational people making irrational decisions almost as if they're hypnotized or drugged and I am powerless to do anything about it.

How else can you explain the members of the Congress of the People lining up to slit their own throats in an election accommodation designed to make them irrelevant?
I mean, it's as plain as day, the machinations at work, the daily 'slight of hand' tomfoolery taking place live on TV, and yet like drunken cult members, the COP is 'doing so' and 'rising' to their own demise. Dancing around the fire of illusion, chanting a song they don't even know the words to.

Don't they see the undermining, the marginalizing, the handling and time marking?

I am seeing members on TV that I didn't see since the last election simply because they weren't allowed in the spotlight. They are being slowly unarmed and neutered, so that the membership will have no choice but to embrace the UNC in the new version of the politics of race.

And why are the members, all 148,000 plus accepting this situation; Why?

Is it simply a game of follow the leader?

Can it be that the members of the Congress of the People REALLY believe that they could NEVER win an election in Trinidad, so this is their only path to power?
If that is indeed so then the Party is guilty of practicing the politics of deceit and have lied to their supporters, selling them fables and promises they knew fully well to be untrue.
A mirage, a blip as their opponents say, an aberration, a temporary reaction to Basdeo Panday, and now they gone back home.

Why am I coming down so hard on the COP?

Because apart and aside from all this horse trading and accommodating, and regardless of what Winston and Kamla say and do here, 'when de mark buss,' my country is going to lose, again.
Poor people are going to lose, again.
Those weakest and least prepared to take jamming are going to lose, again.

And what is infinitely worse is that I know for a fact that many of the members WANT the Party to break off and go their own way, to rebuild and wash clean this experience, to prepare to fight another day.

Take your six or seven seats and build from there, a truly great Party, founded on ethics so it had to stand for ethics.

But the Leadership is staying mum even though they HAVE to be hearing the grumbling too. A deaf man could hear it.
So my next question can only be, why?

Why play dumb when it appears that the other side in your love triangle has all the cards, and is using them to make you all but irrelevant?

Does the COP have a plan?

A wheel within the wheel?

Or is this the end game for all the people who dared believe that it WAS possible to build a Party on the high ground, outside of 'the politics of race', where the 'we' and the 'them' was separated by integrity and moral and spiritual values, not hair texture and coconut oil.

Are we so politically lazy that we are taking our decisions pre-decided?

Look, it was extremely noble politics to join up with the UNC to remove Patrick Manning from Office.
The country will never forget that the Party was prepared to sacrifice a lot of its political capital and most of its gains to do so (no pun intended), but now the deed is done.
This lukewarm sham of a marriage, this 'love up' of convenience has become like cheap porn without the sex; All talk and no action.

Why continue the charade?

The ONLY justification for this illusion called a 'Partnership' was to unite to remove Manning; it is how the COP members stomached a lot of what they knew to be still very wrong with the UNC; it is how they put up with a leader of questionable ethics at best, a demon dressed up and playing people in some macabre twist of jab jab at worst.

Make no mistake, how it looks or how it's portrayed is not how it is.

This is no Partnership, this is an Autocracy; Jack Warner's little fiefdom, with everyone else, INCLUDING Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar beholding to him for their position.

Right now a vote for the COP only strengthens Jack Warner's hand, and that helps nobody, nowhere, no way, no how...

And any member of the Congress of the People who could find their stones will tell you evrything I say here is the God's honest truth...
