No More Exchange...

Enough is enough is enough.

The abuse of the people of this country has gone on too long and the constant swing back and forth between the UNC and the PNM has had the effect of rendering the people powerless. Elections are now a farce and expensive ones at that, and accomplishes so little that we have families 'parking' members on both sides in both Parties so as to continue eating gravy despite who is in power.

With the collapse of Manning's Government and Kamla's subsequent rise to power, the members and supporters appeared completely lost, dazed and confused. Many PNM supporters rallied behind my blog post May 24th believing that I was 'one of them' because of the constant scrutiny and pressure to perform that i had the Government under, and truth be told the reason for this (as I had to explain ad nauseum to PP supporters over and over and over again) was simple - the PNM was irrelevant to the politics and until they had their convention and made the changes that their new leader Dr. Keith Rowley promised I was prepared to wait until then to see if they were worth any of our attention.

They (the supporters) also seemed to rally behind me because their Party was so soundly beaten that few, if any, knew if it would survive and what form it would take; these were the days of PNM people pelting Manning with big stone, so they needed a champion and an independent voice, and as the enemy of my enemy can be considered my friend, they embraced me and made my words their words. Some even started making advances toward me to become 'more involved,' which was funny to me because of how hard I worked to help bring Manning down in the first place.

Post convention I was the first to observe that no dry dock took place and instead of a court martial we got a hug up in San Fernando; I said categorically that the PNM will continue to be irrelevant to the politics because none of the promised changes were made and, a year into Rowley's reign, none appear to be forthcoming and we needed to consign that Party to history.

Well who tell me say that?

With gauntlets flying all over the place, the formerly friendly PNM ripped off its mask and attacked me full on, twisting my words and making me their agenda, with messengers arriving in multiple media to advise me against well, going against.

Really?

Even my formerly new 'best friend' Dr. Amery Browne joined in on the slander brigade and I was made to watch how real PNM politics works as I was called more names than I know how to pronounce.

This had the effect of revealing two things to me:

1) That for all the pressure that I gave the members and combined Parties of the People's Partnership their response was to reach out to me and find ways to mainstream up their image, and 2) that the PNM still only has one play in its playbook, that which it cannot control it must destroy.

Now first off, I still consider myself irrelevant to that style of politics and they could have it all for all I care, but more importantly i need to ask, how did or does this eventually help their cause? How does one more enemy translate to victory at the polls?

Secondly, I still consider myself independent and because of that i felt free to lend my support to whomever I choose.

Nothing that I was saying or have said since is apparently untrue as no one has as yet called me out on the substance of my words but have attacked me for having the 'bold faceness' to say them in the first place; that and that behavior alone makes me think that this Party and its arrogance should never, ever hold the reins of power in this country ever again, and I appreciated the reminder as to why we booted them out in the first place.

Manning may be gone from power, but that Party still have Manningitis bad.

I have said publicly that I would work to support the Government in the short term as pulling the People's Partnership down just to re-install an un-apologetic PNM was at best madness and at worst total insanity for this country and its people as far as I was concerned.

Like many, I hold the PNM completely responsible for the crime situation in this country because the PNM is totally responsible for all of the poverty in this country; the list of financial abuses and treasury looting under the PNM is legendary from Williams to Manning, and I have said before Kamla could drink all the scotch in Scotland, she and the government she leads could never be worse for this country than the divisive, arrogant banditry of the PNM.

Until they can accept that, apologize for it and take steps to correct it, I want no part of anything like them now or anytime soon.
