Bachanal in the PNM for the whole world to see, and to some of the deniers, deflectors, rewriters and apologists are damn well vex that what happens in the PNM didn't stay in the PNM.
To call what is taking place a rift is like calling the Caroni river a drain, as the Party seems to be in free fall and convulsions now that agendas and cliques are being exposed.
Rushing to pull up their proverbial pants, it may be a case of too little too late for some and way past midnite for others.
Take Marlene for example; some say since she get the whip she feel like she big in de PNM dance, others say she big so long time. Since Rowley elevate her she taking on one set a projects on her plate despite being cautioned that her plate may already be too full and she should cut back. Few would say that to her face though, because within and without Party circles she still is quite the heavy hitter.
Problems of this nature are too large for the General Council to deal with and may have to be left alone for the Party leadership.
This is not the case with Amery Browne who has been kept put away almost saved for a rainy day on the top shelf of the PNM closet since the Manning Administration.
Originally a Manning stalwart, he has been known to make daring contributions with his trademark flamboyant style and some say if Rowley wants to get the most out of him he cannot remain put away like the good china and should in fact be brought out of the background. Spokesperson for the Party who wants to remain anonymous said Dr. Browne is a fabulous Member of Parliament, and any decision to come out of the closet will be entirely up to him and not Rowley.
Meanwhile McIntosh and Jefferies, two members of the unimportant duo said things that nobody listened to or cared about and are only being mentioned in so much as people wait to see just how their PNM and political careers come to an end.
Make no mistake, regardless of what the General Council decides, Dr. Rowley will lose his trademark Rottweiler-ness if these members are allowed to embarrass him and continue and would have the effect of neutering his effectiveness as Opposition Leader.
There are many who compare his present predicament to that of a juggler and he needs to be very careful with what happens next and good advice would be while all of this is up in the air to keep his own eyes on his balls.
Manning's contribution was compared to a 'market van full of cock' which was challenged by the equal rights arm of the TTSPCA who insists that the analogy must include hens.
What happens next is no laughing matter and even Franklin Khan has lost his smile. Left up to him the offenders would no longer be card carrying members of the Party, but the General Council still recovering from a bad case of Manningitis overruled him and put him in his place.

McDonald in her chronological account, said Manning did not respect her as the parliamentary caucus leader and had flatly refused her invitations to attend meetings.
She said Manning often would get bits of information, sometimes distorted, and would call her to berate her on the basis of the misinformation.
She would often respond by asking him why didn't he come to the caucus himself, she said, adding that she would correct the distortions.
Manning for his part has said quite publicly that he is afraid to be in a room with Marlene unless it is properly catered and that there is enough food to go around.
McDonald told the General Council that she first learned from parliament staff that Manning had sued the Privileges Committee, whose members include three PNM MPs (Patricia McIntosh, Colm Imbert and Donna Cox) who were named as defendants in the lawsuit. Colm Imbert is still waiting to have his opinion provided to him and has refused to comment on the matter until then.
McDonald reported that on this motion involving the Privileges Committee, that Manning had first sought Paula Gopee-Scoon's assistance in filing it.

The caucus agreed that it would facilitate Manning by providing a seconder to the motion so that he could present this case to the Parliament.
Rowley requested Gopee-Scoon to be the seconder and she agreed on condition that someone explain why the party was adopting a neutral position in this matter. Imbert was persuaded to explain the neutral vote.
McDonald was directed to advise Manning of the caucus position.
But, when told of the decision, Manning bluntly refused to amend the motion.
Based on that, Gopee-Scoon decided against seconding the motion and Imbert declined to speak. Eventually Alicia Hospedales agreed to second the motion, but on the condition that she would not be required to speak on it which was why she went across the street to get a rock cake and a mauby while Manning was on his feet.
Gopie-Scoon who shot to fame for hugging Obama also sought to bring closure to the matter by hugging both Rowley and Manning and Fitzgerald Hinds for some reason, but this had no real impact whatsoever.
When questioned about it she offered to hug the reporters who politely declined.
As of this writing Manning is vex that the others did not play nice and has promised to never come over to play with them again.
Rowley for his part was quoted as saying he doh mind because Manning doh play nice and does hog all the toys anyway.
Marlene was last seen on her way to Royal Castle for a five piece and fries and was unavailable for further comment.
