Mad Science...

Went to the gym to workout tonight, and the only thing I worked out was my mouth, ears and mind. Serious conversation, politics as usual.

My friend for the session is as learned as they come, well connected and politically astute chapter and verse. Ever been to horse racing with someone who don't only know which jockey riding which horse, he know where the horse born and what they eat that day? My pardner just so.

The talk started in our trademark style, PNM questions answered with more questions as the appetizer, because like everybody else, we all want to know if the good Doctor still have a hold on that job, or if all the contortions and convulsions within that place showed its final hand yet.

Manning could never come back. That myth fading fast.

Rowley could be in a mess if he don't find a way to be more Prime Ministerial and less Rowley. Possible? A wry smile was the reply. The Party and its leader need more inclusiveness but like he don't have it. So all yuh dont know what will happen to the Balisier Party? I asked.

Nope. Browne straining at the leash but financiers not interested in him. They say he cant win a bingo in this town all pretty talk aside, and they combing the constitution to see if anybody other than a sitting MP could be Party leader.

Things getting hot so talk switch.Main course; People's Partnership leaking members, sinking fast. why?

Hodge podge politics not working, people not happy. Over promise and under deliver was always a prescription for disaster, and this one look like it going to end in a real mess. Bunch of clowns dancing for the leader with their back to the crowd so they not hearing what the people saying. They only saying what the Leader hearing and is one set of stupidness they talking. Agenda based on PR and an advertising man rumored to be setting government policy. You don't expect people to leave?

COP dead, nobody interested in Prakash and his boys and Dooks appears to have cut his own throat. The entire banking community questioning his judgement now, his authority based on rumor of substance more than factual economic acumen they say, and no amount of wizadry is putting that particular genie back into its bottle in time for elections.

Kamla still looking clueless. People saying the woman has no plan and to make matters worse, she has no advisors, only takers.

Labour in the street in first year of Governance is not a good sign, because labour march with them for elections.

Ish and Steve and Anand going to drag this government down, wait and see.

Seven elections in a decade and the people not happy, I had to ask, what do the people want?

Can't we try a different approach? More systems less personalities, more accountability and fewer layers of authority?

Can't we use Parliament to ask questions of Ministers and Commissioners and decide if their job safe month by month?

Could it happen?

Yes and no was his answer. Kamla has the authority to do it but she lacks the capacity.

Warner under real pressure inside and outside the UNC. At this point even his doctor has to be questioning his decisions.

So who has the real authority now? No one. Why you think we still have a State of Emergency?

Country facing the results of things hidden away since Eric, so no one in Parliament safe and clean.

What next?

Who knows. People waiting for the State of Emergency to done.

Wait and see if Kamla, Rowley and Warner have a job in the new year, things could change.

I left that conversation with my head hurting because I know this man don't waste time. He tell me personally walk away from all Parties, leave them to their own devices for the time being.

Driving home I wondered, so many colleagues packed it in and shut up shop in the recent past. Many who have love of country run out of patience with the circus. Others talking about walking away too.

Who is me in all this?
