Time's Up Jack.... (On The AATT Contract)

FIFA Vice President Austin Jack Warner, in his night job as Minister of Works & Transport in Trinidad & Tobago has succinctly demonstrated why many of us would rather he takes his brand of non ethics elsewhere. While Patrick Manning (in an act of pure smart-man-ism) set up Special Purpose Companies to do an end run around the Tendering Process, Warner flouted EVERY rule and standing order regarding the awarding of contracts and did away with the need for disclosure altogether.

Many activists including myself have declined opportunities to serve in the People's Partnership Government principally for fear of the inevitable of certain 'political investors and opportunists', and this development bears this out and justifies our fears completely.

Regardless of how he comes to be on her 'team' and in her Administration, Kamla Persad Bissessar has been placed in a very untenable position and must take steps to fire Mr. Warner now. As Prime Minister, one of the key responsibilities is knowing who to appoint and who to let go; We again call on the Honorable Prime Minister to remove from Public Office for reasons demonstrated here and before, Justice Minister Herbert Volney, WASA CEO Ganga SIngh, Minister of Public Utilities Emmanuelle George and Works Minister Jack Warner. There are many who still withhold their support from her Government (this writer included) simply because these men poke holes and conspire to make a lie of her promised Government of integrity in service to the people.

There are others in her Administration who are failing at their posts and are using her moment in history to glorify themselves. She (KPB) needs to take a tough stance on all these hangers on and relieve herself of these burdens so as not to lose her date with destiny.

I have included below an article from Edmund Nigel Gall on this same issue which includes a realease from Warner himself, because I am loathe to repost it myself simply because of the allegations Warner makes against Inshan Ishmael in the body of his release, a man to whom we the country now owes a debt of gratitude for exposing him (Warner), his actions here and this story in the first place. I have said to many times that men like these specialize in destroying the messenger to kill the message, but I believe we are all aware of the shenanigans of Jack Warner now to be fooled ny this pitiful display.

All of the above said, I call on Austin Jack Warner to resign his post as Cabinet Minister immediately and, should he fail to so do, I call on the Prime Minister to have him removed.
