What would you say if I was to tell you that Michael Zhang (of Calder Hart fame) and the controversial Chinese construction firm Shanghai construction (of UDECOTT and Guanapo church fame) were about to become partners with THIS government in the construction of five hospitals; or if I said that the UNC Party (not the Government of Trinidad & Tobago or even the People's Partnership) might be organizing a junket to the People's Republic of China to visit hospitals as examples of these projects proposed by Shanghai, and that of the five high level members on the proposed trip led by Roodal Moonilal not one of them was a medical doctor or even a health care professional; or if I went on to say that a Cabinet Note was presented by the new Minister of Heath proposing this venture and suggesting that it be moved from under Jack Warner's NIPDEC and placed under Roodal Moonilal's UDECOTT due to a split in the leadership of the Party, wouldn't you assume that I was writing fiction?
Or what if I alluded to the fact that it has been rumored that as both the Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago Kamla Persad Bissessar and Calder Hart 'shared' the same lawyer that it would be near impossible for him to advise one against the other, and that it has been alleged that for this reason the State may not be pursuing the erstwhile gentleman who some say has some serious questions to answer with regard to a few billion of the people's dollars that may or may not have been misappropriated on his watch?
What if I told you that the heart of the United National Congress was about to be hotly contested for, and that both Jack Warner and company and the 'Old Guard' team led by Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj and Basdeo Panday were currently preparing to mount significant separate challenges for the membership and leadership of the Party, or that both teams have already begun to lay ground and that inroads have already been made with important Party stalwarts as Kamla is no longer seen as viable or manageable, would you think it plausible?
How about the allegation that Kamla is being stage managed by a cabal of political controllers within the UNC made up of Chandresh Sharma, Suruj Rambachan, Glenn Ramadharsingh, Roodal Moonilal, Anand Ramlogan and Ernie Ross (of Ross Advertising) who are the de facto leaders of the Party and by extension the government, would you be able to believe me?
The sheer volumes of information that I get on a daily basis on allegations of corruption taking place as we speak would fill volumes and for all that knowledge there is nothing that can be done. The cold reality of the matter is that even if this were all fact there is precious little that we could do about it short of rioting in the streets. The people of this country seem to labor under the misconception that where such abuses occur, the system would have some self righting mechanisms in place to deal with, weed out and prosecute offenders similar to what occurs under the Westminster Government after which our system was modeled; the truth is we don't, and for that to work we would need to have a nation ruled by convention, tradition and name, but again we don't; reputation counts for nothing here save for where largesse and the perception of power are concerned, and our society appears to reward the devious and the daring over the decent and upright. As a further counter balance, Westminster relies heavily on a strong and competitive media dedicated to being the people's voice and a working system of law and order, neither of which we have and it is because of this, with each successive change of government the abuses are getting worse as the abusers are getting more sophisticated in their plans and their execution.

Some would say that if all that was said here were fact instead of fiction there would still be nothing we as a people could do as the lack of protective systems in place appear to favor the corrupt and the powerful, so it really doesn't matter whether we know about it or not.
But what if it were all true?

All that you are saying is fact not fiction Phillip, the kicker is the gracious Church that was being built in Guanapo, guess who had a big stake in that church?!
